Podium Presentation Instructions
Information for Presenters
The final program has now been posted online and we ask you to familiarize yourself with all papers to be presented in your session. You can access all papers by clicking on them in the online program and using the login sent to you by email. If you need access to the login information again, please email.
You are expected to present for 15 minutes followed by 5 minutes of discussion. There will be a total of 3 or 4 presentations per session. The order of presentations follows the order indicated in the program. Please make sure that you arrive at least 20 minutes before the start of your session in the scheduled room and introduce yourself to the session chair. To ensure that your presentation and any embedded files are shown as expected, we ask that you present from your own laptop. If you are not bringing a laptop, please have your presentation loaded onto a USB drive and use the laptop of one of the other presenters for your presentation. We highly recommend that you use the 20 minutes before the session to click through all your slides and ensure that all slides and videos work as intended on the equipment provided. You will be given access to a 120V electrical outlet, a VGA display cable and a 3.5mmm audio connector. Given the tight timing of all sessions, we have to inform you that any delays due to problems with the equipment will count towards your presentation time and that you will not be given extra presentation time.

In your session, we ask that you keep track of timing and facilitate discussion between the authors and the audience. For podium presentations, we will have between three and four papers per session. Each author is given 15 minutes for presentation followed by 5 minutes of discussion. Any remaining time in your session should be used for further discussion. In addition, we ask that you arrive 20 minutes before your session in the scheduled room and greet the authors and help them ensure that their presentation is ready and they know how the session will run. In the unfortunate event that an author does not show up, please do your best to bridge the delay with discussion on the papers presented previously so that members of the audience can switch between sessions. However, we do understand that this may not be possible in all cases and ask that you use your best judgment to make the call on when to start and stop presentations.
We would also like to alert you to the chairperson information session on Sunday, August 23, at 16:00 in Hewlett 201. You will find directions to the room in the program online and in the printed program available to you at the conference. We hope that you will be able to join us for this event.
Please also review the information given to presenters at the top of this page.
